Medieval Christmas Market

Look forward to a colourful medieval Christmas market at Schloss Laufen at the Rine Falls with traders from all over the world, food and drink, game stalls and jugglers. An event for cosiness and for slowing down.

Friday to Sunday - 22 to 24 November 2024

The market, the only purely medieval Christmas market in Switzerland, is taking place for the second time. Fun and games for young and old await you with showmen and storytellers and music.

By candlelight and a crackling fire, all kinds of beautiful things are offered for sale by market riders, craftsmen and traders from near and far. Be inspired by unusual jewellery, leather good, spices and spirits as well as amour and buy the first Christmas presents for your loved ones.

Look forward to a medieval street food festival. Expect food from the grill and fire as well as from the pot and oven. From Dinnede, "Chäsfüess" to "Langosch" and to crêpes and waffles. Warm mead, cider and mulled wine made to our own recipe are also available.

Practise your axe throwing and archery, experience the weapons demonstations or watch the falconer and his fascinating birds.

The little ones will be entertained in the castle by the storyteller with exciting stories and suprised by Santa Claus. An entertaining programme with face painting and play stands round off the programme.
