Come visit us

Get an overview of Schloss Laufen and its surroundings. Start your Rhine Falls tour in our visitor centre right next to the car park.
You can learn more about the glass lift and the Belvedere panoramic trail here. Ask about the spectacular “Känzeli”. We will be happy to show you the marvellous panoramic trail. And should you get peckish or truly hungry, we provide you with tips about the various catering facilities on site.

Ticket counter for the Rhine Falls experience at Schloss Laufen

Get your key to the Rhine Falls here. Obtain a single ticket for all attractions. fascinating stories in the Historama, a leisurely stroll along the Belvedere panoramic trail, the viewing platforms above the crashing waterfalls and the wonderful view of the region offered from the glass panoramic lift.

Included in the ticket price: access to the Historama, the viewing platforms and the panoramic lift. Tickets for visitors in a wheelchair or with a pram are only available in the Visitor Centre and not from the ticket machines.

Dogs are permitted
Payment is accepted in euros throughout the Castle site
(except at the ticket machines)
Traffic ban on the Castle site (bikes must be left in the bike stands)

Access 24 hours a day to the viewing platforms

 

Tickets for the boat rides cannot be purchased in the visitor centre. You can purchase them directly from one of the boat operators at the Schloss Laufen or Schlössli Wörth docking stations.

Arrival by car

From Zurich:
Take the A4 in the direction of St. Gallen; continue on to Schaffhausen at the Winterthur exit. Take the Dachsen/Rheinfall exit to Schloss Laufen. Follow the signs to the car park.

From Basel:
Take the A3 in the direction of Zurich, follow Nordring Zürich, then the A4 towards St. Gallen; continue on to Schaffhausen at the Winterthur exit. Take the Dachsen/Rheinfall exit to Schloss Laufen. Follow the signs to the car park.

From Bern:
Take the A1 in the direction of Zurich, follow Nordring Zürich, then the A4 towards St. Gallen; continue on to Schaffhausen at the Winterthur exit. Take the Dachsen/Rheinfall exit to Schloss Laufen. Follow the signs to the car park.

There is a large parking area for cars and buses. Parking is free.

Arrival with public transport

From Zurich:
Take the train to Winterthur, then the S33 train to «Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall» railway station.
Last train to Winterthur at 23:51.

From Schaffhausen:
Take the S33 train or bus to the «Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall» station. Last train to Schaffhausen at 00:36.

NEW as of 9th December 2018:
Night trains on Friday and Saturday until 04:00 at railway station «Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall», direction Winterthur and Schaffhausen with connecting trains to Zurich and St. Gallen (online-timetable not yet available).

Luggage storage
Please note that we are unable to provide any luggage storage. We recommend that you deposit your luggage at one of the large SBB train stations, or to leave it in a luggage locker there.

If you have limited mobility due to a disability or your age, or if you are bringing a pram, you will find useful information here:

Arrival by train at the «Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall» station
Maximum 20 cm height difference between the platform and the train. Passengers in a wheelchair should indicate to the train driver that they wish to board the train; they will then be given personal assistance in boarding via a mobile ramp.
Step-free accesss from the station to the panoramic lift and Visitor Centre (tickets for visitors in a wheelchair or with a pram can only be obtained in the Visitor Centre).
